  • The Blue Springs South girls swimming and diving team sent seven seniors off in style.
    The Jaguars honored Morgan Connors, Emily Zweerink, Alison Henderson, Alexis Kulash, Bre Schlenger, Britney Machin and Marrissa Torres by earning four dual wins in a five-team meet Tuesday at the Blue Springs Family YMCA. South beat Suburban Big Six foe Lee’s Summit 175-131, Pembroke Hill 205-88, St. Pius X 180-110 and O’Hara 242-7 to finish 15-4 in dual meets.
    “We had a successful end to our dual meet season,” Jaguars coach Errich Oberlander said. “Now our focus really turns to conference.”
    South won four events. Schlenger (257.30 points) and Allie Steinhauser (212.30) finished 1-2 in diving with state-qualifying scores.
    Anna Munoz won the 50-yard freestyle in 27.96 seconds, and Kailey Paris prevailed in the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.76. Munoz, Sydney Dillon, Jansynn Radford and Leah Stone won the 400 freestyle relay in 4:13.52.
    Megan Black (200 freestyle, 100 backstroke) and Georgia Gettys (200 IM, 100 butterfly) each won two events to lead Lee’s Summit. The Tigers also beat Pembroke Hill (169-103), St. Pius (144-118) and O’Hara (211-6).
    PATRIOTS SPLIT: Truman split four duals in a five-team meet Wednesday at Henley Aquatic Center.
    The Patriots defeated Sedalia Smith-Cotton 172-103 and William Chrisman 205-31 but fell 183-105 to Raymore-Peculiar and 205-81 to Liberty North. Chrisman also fell 148-41 to Smith-Cotton, 230-13 to Liberty North and 225-23 to Ray-Pec.
    Jordan Esry, Allison Timko and Cary Hotson each recorded a third-place finish to lead Truman. Esry took third in the 200 freestyle (2:38.85), Timko was third in the 500 freestyle (6:51.00) and Hotson was third in the 100 backstroke (1:21.62).
    Lexi Parsons led Chrisman by taking fourth in the 50 (29.28) and 100 (1:07.06) freestyles.
