The Blue Springs School District has been the cornerstone of our community for decades. The current economic challenges that started four years ago are forcing some districts to now eliminate classroom staff, programs, support staff and jeopardize facility upkeep.

It’s time for Blue Springs residents to step up and support education by supporting a temporary increase in the funding to keep a quality district’s high standards intact until the crisis abates.

The city of Blue Springs floated bonds to bail out a private enterprise to complete a private development shopping mall. The city donates hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the Economic Development Corp., a private enterprise representing Blue Springs with economic development.

The school district’s greatest immediate challenge is to keep the district at its current level of  performance – it’s a commitment to the community and it’s immediate future. Our school district is equally important to the residents as a shopping mall or maybe more important!

A community’s foundation starts with its commitment to education! The school board needs to work with its funding authority to ensure the district is adequately staffed with teachers, facilities maintained and appropriate head office and support staff. Public support for schools is a commitment that cannot be ignored!
