  • American Rhythm, a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints dance group, displayed the dances of America from early days until modern at the Community of Christ Auditorium the evening of the Fourth of July, setting in motion a night of celebrating the birth of America.
Early settlers danced to the spritely tunes of the local musicians, and dancers celebrated love to a jazzy, toe-tapping tune.
The dancing performance was followed by a patriotic concert by The Spirit of Independence Band at LDS Visitors Center and Pageant Grounds and then the city's fireworks display to kick off the Independence Day weekend.
