Monte James Rodgers, 64, of Blue Springs, Mo. passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Monte was born June 19, 1958 in Kansas City, Kan., the son of William John and Mary Lou (Moyer) Rodgers. He was a Bricklayer for close to 30 years and a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 15, a trade that was shared by his father, as well. Monte enjoyed sports and was an avid Chiefs, Royals and KU fan. A favorite place to travel was to Florida’s Anna Maria Island. He loved being outside, especially if he was fishing. Monte also enjoyed bowling. He liked to cook and was always ready to fire up the grill and smoker and enjoyed competitions.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Monte is survived by his wife Sharon, of the home; two daughters: Blair Rodgers and Paige Rodgers; two step-daughters: Carmen Gray of Wichita, Kan. And Abbie Gray of Blue Springs, Mo.; step-son, Austin Gray of Addison, Ill.; three step-grandchildren: Tyler Allen, Kaitlin Gray and Alexis Gray; and brother, David Rodgers of Bradenton, Fla.
