When Alan Wilmes took over as head coach at Park Hill South High School four years ago, he brought along a special event that dated back to his playing days at Francis Howell High School. “When I was at Francis Howell, we had a moms camp, and it was a big hit – everyone loved it,” said Wilmes, the new football head coach at Blue Springs South High School.

Alice Lenington is somewhat of an icon when it comes to day lilies and the Kansas City gardening scene. She and her son Dale run Lenington Gardens, which her late father-in-law George Lenington created in 1952.

Alice Ann Belscamper

Alice Ann Belscamper, April 30, 1940 - July 6, 2022, was the youngest child of Earl B. and Altha (Koehler) Belscamper. She lived her entire life in Independence and attended the Stone Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. Surviving are five nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and -nephews. Family will re ceive friends from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday July 26, 2022, at The Groves in Independence.
