Drinkwitz sharpens focus on Mizzou’s raised expectations

ATLANTA — Coach Eli Drinkwitz doesn’t have to hang around the rest of the week at Southeastern Conference football media days to see what the writers and TV folks think of his Missouri Tigers. The SEC’s preseason media poll comes out Friday, and despite a roster that Drinkwitz believes is MU’s most talented in his three seasons, outside expectations figure to be modest, at best.

Oak Grove rallies to tie but falls

Oak Grove Post 379 manager Jeff Wright wishes his American Legion players had as much confidence in themselves as he and his staff have in them. Post 379 watched the Sedalia Post 642 Travelers jump out to an 8-1 lead before Oak Grove used a five-run fourth inning and tworun fifth to knot the score at 8-8 in the first round of AAA American Legion Zone 2 Tournament action Monday night at Hidden Valley Park.

Grain Valley grad ready to go pro

Jacob Misiorowski missed out on his senior baseball season at Grain Valley High School when COVID-19 wiped out all spring activities. He followed that disappointment with a knee injury that could have derailed his baseball career, as he tore his meniscus in his second start at Crowder College at the beginning of the 2021 season.
