CHRISTOPHER LEE INGRAM

Christopher Lee Ingram, 40 of Blue Springs, MO passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2022. Cremation is planned with inurnment to be held at a later date in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. He was born on April 14, 1982 in Kansas City Missouri to James Richard Ingram and Karen Lee Ingram (Hargus). Chris graduated from Blue Springs North High School on May 25, 2001. He was a member of First Christian Church of Independence, Missouri. Christopher loved spending time with his grandparents, aunts and uncle. He also enjoyed bowling and going to thrift stores with his father and was a loving brother and uncle. Christopher was survived by his parents James and Karen Ingram (Hargus), his younger brother, Joshua James Ingram; grandparents, Patricia Frances Hargus, and Shirley Maxine Duncan (Ingram), aunts Nancy Lynn Ryan (Hargus) and Vickie Lynn Ingram, and a nephew, Sean P. Family struggles to grow roots amid frequent moves

DEAR ABBY: My husband, my child and I have moved six times over an eight-year period. Some of the moves were within months of each other. All of them were for financial or emotional reasons. The last one took us an hour and a half away from where we had been living for many years. We had formed relationships there, and our child had built friendships. We loved the area and school. We decided to buy a house after renting, but we struggled to find a place in our price range. Instead, we found one back in an old area we liked.

Blue Springs woman’s death under investigation Blue Springs police continue to investigate a suspicious death after an elderly woman was found dead inside a motel room last week. Police had responded to 911 call in the late morning of July 5 from the Welcome Inn, 3300 NW Jefferson St., just north of Interstate 70.

Independence man faces second-degree murder charge

An Independence man has been charged in last week’s fatal shooting of a man who allegedly planned the avenge his brother’s death a few days earlier. Jackson County prosecutors charged Malijahjuan Smith, 25, with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of Damarion Benjamin, who was found the morning of July 7 in the grass in the area of 51st Street and Lawn Avenue in Kansas City, in a neighborhood off King Boulevard/Blue Parkway just west of the Blue River.
