Oak Grove falls in battle of unbeatens

The highly anticipated matchup between unbeatens Oak Grove Post 379 and Moline (Ill.) Post 246 lived up to the hype for five innings in the 33rd annual American Legion Wood Bat Invitational. Oak Grove’s Dalton Chaney and Moline’s Braden Thatcher came up with an array of big pitches as the key pool play game was tied 3-3 through five innings at Hidden Valley Park.

Trober runs into Jags’ record books

When Mya Trober arrived at Blue Springs South High School four years, she was on the fast track to becoming a star on the girls soccer team. “I guess soccer’s loss is our gain,” quipped South girls track and field head coach Ryan Unruh, as Trober went on to unparalleled success as a junior and senior member of both the cross country and track and field teams.
