William “Bill” Lee Butler, 85, of Independence, MOo. passed away July 19, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, Independence. Funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Burial at Six Mile Cemetery.
Bill was born July 7, 1937 in Kansas City, Mo. to Walker L. and Ilene (Epperson) Butler.
He married Judith Ann Chambers on October 25, 1958. Bill served his country in the United States Navy from 1954-1958. He was an over-the-road truck driver for 30 plus years. Bill enjoyed woodworking, building things, motorcycling, going to the races, camping and being outside. He was very musical, enjoyed singing and dancing.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents: Walker and Ilene Butler; brother: Walker “Gene” Eugene Butler.
Bill is survived by his wife Judith of the home; two children: Matthew Scott Butler (Pauluetta Berry) of Independence; daughter: Susan Kathleen Stuver (Drid) of Georgetown, Texas; grandchildren: Matthew, Cameron, Kayla, Kelsy, Dalen, Jennifer; brother: Phillip Butler (Barbara) Sparks, N.M.; sister: Juanita Thompson of Kansas City, Mo. and several nieces and nephews.
