Blue Springs High School graduate Jake McMahill pitches for Missouri State in an NCAA regional game in Stillwater, Okla., in June. After completing his college career with the Bears, McMahill signed with the Florence Y’alls of the independent Frontier League. Following a short stint with Florence, McMahill was signed by the Cincinnati Reds, When they determined he may still be eligible for the MLB draft, he had to wait through that before signing again with Cincinnati.
