The Community Mediation Center in Independence will be holding Interpersonal Conflict Resolution and Mediation Skills training classes in October.

The Interpersonal Conflict Resolution training provides 15 hours of in depth study on finding your conflict communication style, personal perceptions of conflict and practicing new skills for conflict communication using Restorative Negotiation.

The Mediation Skills training provides an additional 25 hours of preparation that focuses on theories of mediation styles from directive to transformative, engaging in mediation skills practices, and recognizing opportunities for empowerment and responsiveness in facilitating the practical application of resolution methods.

The Interpersonal Conflict Resolution Training is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 11 and 12, and the cost is $225. The Mediation Training is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 16 and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 17 through 19, and the cost is $400. The registration fee for both classes is $600, and a $100 deposit is required at the time of registration. These courses meet requirements for obtaining CEU and CLU credits.
