The Missouri Comets announced Tuesday the return of 2011-2012 Major Indoor Soccer League MVP Geison Moura. He returns to the Comets after playing in Wichita last season.
“I am very happy to be back in Kansas City,” Geison said in a press release. “The fans here are truly some of the greatest and make me feel like family. I can’t wait to get on the field and bring them an exciting season.”
Geison has accumulated 187 points, including 77 goals and 27 assists while playing for three franchises over the past four seasons. In the 2011-2012 season he set modern-day records for the Comets with 37 goals and 90 points. His efforts were rewarded as he was named the MISL’s MVP.
Over two seasons with the Comets, Geison scored 48 goals, notched 22 assists and tallied 123 points. His totals in all three of those categories are second only to Byron Alvarez in the Comets’ record books.
“We’re thrilled to have Geison back,” Comets coach Vlatko Andonovski said in the release. “He is an exciting player to watch, and he will help us remain one of the top-scoring teams in the MISL this season.”
