It looks like an Imperial stormtrooper from “Star Wars” has finally found employment since the destruction of the second Death Star.

Antonio Zaragoza of Independence was fully dressed in an authentic stormtrooper costume Thursday to celebrate Halloween. The Star Wars stormtrooper made an appearance at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Independence to help kids celebrate the holiday and ended the day by doing crossing guard duty after school at Glendale Elementary.

Zaragoza says he fabricated the costume himself and has been working on it since February of this year. “The kids really enjoy it,” he says. “I’m glad to help them celebrate Halloween.”

The Star Wars fan also mentioned that he is affiliated with a Star Wars costuming organization called “Vader’s Fist: 501st Legion.” The group not only brings together Star Wars costume enthusiasts, but is also proud to put its resources to good use through fundraising, charity work, and volunteerism, according to the group’s website.

While Zaragoza says he is grateful finding crossing guard work since his last employer literally exploded, there is word that the Empire might return in 2015.
