The Chicago Street Christmas light display originally from Blue Springs now has a new home in Buckner.

An opening lighting ceremony was held Wednesday night to showcase Buckner’s new holiday lights. Spectators will be able to drive through Heisler-Burns Park in Buckner to the view the display through Jan. 1. The park is on Veteran’s Park Drive off of North Sibley Road and illuminated displays posted on the road will direct spectators where to turn.

The Christmas lighting display is free, but donations will be accepted at the end of the tour that will go toward elementary school teachers and non-profit organizations. Concessions such as hot chocolate and cookies will be available at the park’s clubhouse for purchase as well. And if you prefer an alternative way to see the lights, a horse carriage ride will be provided and costs $3.

The Buckner holiday light display hours are 6 to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 5 to 11 p.m., Friday through Sunday now until Jan. 1.
