The National Archives at Kansas City will host Dr. Melvin Goodman at 6:30 p.m. June 3, 400 N.W. Pershing Road. He will present a lecture titled, “Presidents and the CIA: From Truman to Obama.” A 6 p.m. reception will precede the program.

Dr. Goodman will describe the successes and failures of the Central Intelligence Agency from the perspective of the relationship between the U.S. Presidency and the CIA, from President Harry S. Truman's establishment of the CIA in 1947 through more recent events with the Reagan administration's policies regarding Iran-Contra, the Iraq War, the Obama administration's failure to seek accountability for CIA transgressions and more.
