The Blue Springs South boys golf team fell short in a four-team match Tuesday.

The Jaguars totaled 343 to finish third behind Lee’s Summit West (310) and Lee’s Summit North (326). Lee’s Summit was fourth at 347.

Jack Steinbeck fired an 81 and Bryan Hanneman carded an 82 to lead Blue Springs South at par-72 Adams Pointe Golf Club.

“We still have a lot of work to do. We are getting into trouble way too much. We’re posting too many big numbers to be competitive,” Jaguars coach Ted Linke said. “I was really proud of Bryan today. He struggled on the front with a 47, but came back with a 35 on the back nine. I think that will help his confidence a lot as we go through the rest of the season.”

West’s Nelson Searcy shot 76 to earn medalist honors, while Titans teammate Kerry Maguire shot 77. Gavin McDonald shot a 78 to lead the Lee’s Summit North Broncos.

Ryan Drake (90), Ethan Wegner (90) rounded out South’s team card. Carter Messner shot 91 and Garrett Edwards had a 107.

PANTHERS FALL: Cameron Lauber shot 52 to lead Oak Grove but the Panthers finished behind MRVC West rivals Harrisonville and Odessa Tuesday at Adams Pointe Golf Club.

Oak Grove totaled 226 as a team to finish third. Harrisonville, led by medalist Tucker Quinn’s 44, won at 184 followed by Odessa at 191.

Justin Collins (57), Patrick Yulle (58), Mason Carier (59) and Austin Holtorf (63) completed Oak Grove’s scoring. Ryan Palmer and Colby Dowell each shot 46 to lead Odessa.
