The members of Xi Iota Phi chapter continue to be busy both in their chapter's activities and in the community.  We took advantage of this year's theme, "Expand Your Beta Sigma Phi Family Tree," to each share information on our families.  Beginning with a book printed by one member's family on their Irish heritage, another family's holiday/family traditions, and the original ship's passage/ticket of another member's great grandfather from Germany in 1893, we each shared family history and "secrets" with each other.

Our service to the community continues strong. We gave book bags, calculators, notebook and miscellaneous school supplies to the Grain Valley Community Services League and have helped replenish their food pantry.  Donations of personal care items were made to Hope House, and Children's Mercy Hospital East received fun items to give the children who visit their clinics.

Our Valentine Queen, Chris Smith, was honored with dinner at the Outback Steak House in February.  All our members and many spouses attended even though the weather that particular night was "iffy."

In March we elected officers for the coming year: Karen Sutton, president; Cathy Talley, vice president; Chris Smith, recording secretary;, Bobbie Brubeck, corresponding secretary; Debbie Woods, treasurer; and Christy Donner, extension officer. We also welcomed back two members who had been on a leave of absence – Claire Capaldo and Debbie Woods.
