The Fort Osage girls soccer team’s winning streak is now at six games.
And the Indians maintained their first-place standing in the Suburban Middle Seven with a 2-1 victory over host Raytown Thursday at Ted Chittwood Stadium.
“We struggled at times to connect our passes, but we did just enough to win,” Fort Osage coach Andrew Fletcher said after his team improved to 9-6-1 overall and 6-1 in the conference. “We will take a couple of days to rest and keep improving on Monday."
Leigh Anne Bartlett and Emma Hogland scored goals to boost the Indians.
Fort Osage’s junior varsity also won 3-0.
TRUMAN 11, RUSKIN 0: Lexi Rodriguez scored a hat trick in the first 18 minutes to lead Truman to an easy Suburban Middle Six win at Ruskin Thursday.
“Good win tonight,” Patriots coach Jared Byrne said after his team improved to 5-8 overall and 1-2 in the Middle Six.
Rodriguez scored in the 10th, 17th and 18th minutes – on two assists from Charley Burton and one from Kylie Waterworth – for a 3-0 Truman lead.
Waterworth and Kali Christman each added two goals and Katie Black, Ally Smart, Raegan Foushee and Bailey Toczek each added one to end it at halftime on the mercy rule.
The Patriots defense held the Eagles without a shot on goal.
