Milwaukee police: 4 people held for questioning in mass slaying MILWAUKEE – Four people have been detained as police investigate their level of involvement, if any, in the deaths of six people found with gunshot wounds in a Milwaukee duplex last weekend, the city’s police chief said Thursday. Investigators believe multiple suspects targeted the six people, Chief Jeffrey Norman said at a news conference.

The Fort Osage girls basketball team could not jump-start its offense Wednesday. A dominating Raymore-Peculiar squad, meanwhile, enjoyed a hot start it maintained throughout in a 52-30 win over the Indians in the semifinals of the 24th annual Grain Valley Sonic Showdown.

Consistent Chrisman routs Olathe North

Consistency helped the William Chrisman boys basketball team to a rout Wednesday. The Bears scored no fewer than 15 points and no more than 17 in any quarter on the way to a 63-38 rout of host Olathe (Kan.) North. Chrisman scored 15 in each of the first two quarters to take a 30-20 lead into halftime.

Grain Valley tops field in six-team meet

The Grain Valley girls swimming and diving claimed six event wins to triumph in a six-team meet Wednesday. The Eagles totaled 430 points to top Winnetonka (357), Raytown (232), Pembroke Hill (209), Grandview (192) and Raytown South (71) at the Raytown Wellness Center.
