INDEPENDENCE, MO - Thomas Jefferson Cundiff, TJ, 46 years of age, passed away on November 26th, at Redwood of Independence. TJ was born March 8th, 1975 in Eugene, Oregon to Tyra and Tom Cundiff. He immediately stole the hearts of everyone around him with his big blue eyes and sweet smile. TJ was an only child and the oldest of five grandchildren. From a young age TJ loved to swim and it didn’t seem to matter how cold the water was. As he grew older he developed a fond love for music. He liked playing his guitar and listening to heavy metal music. TJ was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan! He loved his family, but was especially close to his beloved grandma Clara.
INDEPENDENCE - Chuck Baker, 71, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021. Chuck was born on October 10, 1950, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Cecil Grant and Annie Marie (Robbins) Baker.
Jackson County is again waiving some fees for property tax payments and is extending weekend hours for tax collection in Independence. Fees for online convenience payments and electronic check payments on this year's property taxes will be waived through Dec.
