What happened to our big dreams?

We have launched a spacecraft – like a bottle rocket challenging a pterodactyl – far into space to crash into a small asteroid. The idea is to nudge it to a slightly different course and learn more so someday, if needed, we could do the same thing to an asteroid big and bad enough to take out the planet.

Foul shooting struggles doom Bears

Van Horn sweeps to pair of wins

The Van Horn wrestling team dominated the middle weights to sweep a pair of dual matches Tuesday. Steven Campos (138 pounds), Darrius Page (145) and De’Marcus Penson (152) and CJ Nelson (182) each went 2-0 on the mat to help the host Falcons rout Raytown 53-12 and Maryville 51-21.

Blue Springs South sweeps five-team meet to stay unbeaten

The Blue Springs South girls swimming and diving team remained undefeated on the season after sweeping another five-team meet. The Jaguars defeated Suburban Big Eight foe Lee’s Summit North 203-100 and added wins over Grain Valley (238- 57), Kearney (217-90) and Summit Christian Academy (246-30) Tuesday at the Blue Springs South Aquatic Center.
