Treasury secretary says inflation could ease soon

WASHINGTON (AP) — Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen acknowledged Tuesday that she and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell “could have used a better word” than “transitory” when describing the expected run of inflation in the U.S. economy. She added that she was hopeful it would soon be on the decline.

Scott Frank Brock (Boyd)

Scott Frank Brock (Boyd), 54, formerly of Independence, Mo., passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, in Pocatello, Idaho. Scott was born to Frances Jane Brock and Eugene Baldwin, Jr. in Cape Girardeau on May 28, 1967. After the family moved to the Kansas City area, Fran married David Boyd, who adopted Scott and his brother in 1974. Scott attended Messiah Lutheran and Blackburn Elementary schools, Bridger Junior High, and Truman High School in Independence, and graduated in 1985. He was a member of the Truman Cross Country team. After graduation, Scott joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hohenfels, West Germany and El Paso, Texas.
