Final votes coming for record state budget

A record state operating budget that a top legislative Republican said “has a little bit of something for everyone” is heading for final votes in the Missouri General Assembly as tax revenue continues to pour into the treasury in historic amounts.

Grand jury sharply critical of St. Louis prosecutor

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Members of a grand jury that indicted an investigator in the criminal case against former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens urged a state disciplinary board to take stronger action against St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, calling her conduct “reprehensible.”

COVID-19 deaths massively under-counted, WHO says LONDON (AP) — The World Health Organization estimates that nearly 15 million people were killed either by coronavirus or by its impact on overwhelmed health systems during the first two years of the pandemic, more than double the current official death toll of over 6 million. Most of the deaths occurred in Southeast Asia, Europe and the Americas, according to a WHO report issued Thursday.

Sheryl Sue Cobb was called home by the Lord on the morning of April 27, 2022 at the age of 62. She is survived by her husband Les, her sons Ryan Cobb (Jenaye Aldridge) and Owen Cobb and granddaughter Harper Cobb (Ryan’s daughter). She is also survived by her parents, Jack and Beth Tracy, sister Shelly Krysa (Frank), and brother Mike Tracy (Sarah). She was predeceased recently by her sister Kelly Downs. She has 2 brothers-in-law living, Jim Cobb (Rebecca) and Bill Downs.
