BEIJING (AP) — Beijing is closing all city schools in a further tightening of COVID-19 restrictions, as China’s capital seeks to prevent a wider outbreak. The city of 21 million has already ordered three rounds of mass testing this week, with the third coming Friday.

Longtime Blue Springs High School teacher Betsy Jean Hall died of heart disease on May 13 at her home in Blue Springs. She was 84. Hall was born January 21, 1938 at Edinburg, Texas to Hellen (cq) and Gene Hall, after her parents moved to south Texas in a Model T.
