Charlotte Rose Bramblett

Charlotte Rose Bramblett, 83, of Independence, MO, passed away on April 11, 2022. She is predeceased by her husband Ronald Bramblett, son Keith Bramblett, parents Talton Walls & Lulu Watson Walls, five sisters, and one brother. She left behind her daughter Susan Cumberland and several beloved grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Charlotte was a member of Callao Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and looking for the best estate sales.

Harriell Wayne Booker

Harriell Wayne Booker, 86, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. He arrived in Heaven on time to spend the sunrise service with Jesus. Harriell was born August 21, 1935, the first child of Hobert and Alba Booker in Alton, Missouri. There will be a visitation from 6-8:00 pm Friday, April 22, 2022 and funeral services at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 23 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington Ave, Independence, MO. Burial will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery. Harriell is survived by Mary, his wife of 59 and a half years; two daughters, Donna and husband Steve Adcock, Rechelle and husband John Monteil; three grandchildren, Tyler and wife Rachael Adcock, Shane and Brianna Montiel; two great-grandsons, Wesley and Arthur Adcock; two brothers, Glen and wife Ruth Booker, Lonnie and wife Margaret Booker; and two sisters, Leona Booker and Marilyn Booker. Roberta Jean Wakefield

Roberta Jean Wakefield was born on July 18, 1936 in Atchison, KS, daughter of James Richard Lee Wakefield and Veta Pearl (Like) Wakefield. She passed away on April 10, 2022. She was preceded in death by brother Richard L. Wakefield of Oak Grove and survived by sister Glenda G. Goldsmith and husband Herb Goldsmith of Independence. Roberta was a member of Englewood Assembly of God church for many years and she retired from the Army Corps of Engineers after 30 years of service. The family would like to recognize and thank Jackie Dotson for the countless hours of selfless devotion and care that she gave to Roberta and her family.

Mavericks end season on high note

A season filled with inconsistency and disappointment ended on a positive note for the Kansas City Mavericks. The Mavericks ended the ECHL season with a pair of victories, topping the Wichita Wings 3-1 Friday night at Cable Dahmer Arena and then 4-1 in the regular season finale Sunday at Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita.
