David C. Money, 85, of Independence, Mo., passed away at home on March 1, 2022. He was retired from the City of Independence Water Department after many years of service. David was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Georgia Money; brother, Bob Money and daughter-in-law, Kathie Money. He is survived by his four sons, Brent Money (Laura) of Independence, Mo; Lewis Money (Lisa) of Golden, Mo; Ed Money (Cheryl) of Independence, Mo.; Mike Money of Independence, Mo; 4 grandchildren, Rachel Combs (Darren) of Independence, Mo; Eddie Money of Independence, Mo; Chris Money (Aaron) of Bowling Green, Mo; Michelle Money of Independence, Mo.; 4 great-grandchildren, a wife of the home, Linda Money, and extended family and friends. David will be laid to rest at home, in Aurora, Mo.

Condemn Putin’s evil, but remember Russia wants freedom

Many of us in America feel a need now to somehow confront the Russian government and its strongman leader Vladimir Putin over the unjust and illegal invasion of Ukraine. And we are gratified to see measures at every level of government do so, from serious economic sanctions leveled by the Biden administration to city-led resolutions to condemn the invasion.

Plenty of bad ideas in the Legislature

Will Rogers once said that no man’s property is safe while the legislature is in session. If he were alive today, he might be tempted to say that no man (or woman) is safe when the legislature is in session.
