Barbara Ann McKain Larsen was born on September 16, 1928, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to parents, Harold L. and Mildred (Collins) McKain. She passed from this life on February 18, 2022, at home with family by her side.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale (1991), and her brother Harold McKain, Jr. (2022). She leaves behind her three daughters, Cindy (David) Glandon, Debbie (Steve) Smith, and Laura (Marty Ibarra) Ouderkirk; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Janice (Lane) Morris; all were deeply loved.

Barbara was a lifelong member of Community of Christ and served her Lord faithfully. That commitment found expression in care and service to others through church activities, breast cancer support with Reach to Recovery, and more than 25 years with Meals on Wheels.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 4, 2022, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the East 39th Community of Christ, 15006 E 39th Street, Independence, MO. In lieu of flowers/plants, the family suggests donations in her memory to Independence Meals on Wheels, 409 N Liberty St, Independence, MO 64050.
