Children and parents gather to wait for a visit with Santa Claus aboard the Santa Bus after Tuesday's Blue Springs Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony outside City Hall. Mayor Carson Ross, with help from first lady Ola Truelove-Ross, flipped the switch for the last time, as he is his final year in office. Members of the City Council and their spouses joined him around the podium for the countdown and lighting. The ceremony included performances from the children choirs at Cordill-Mason, William Bryant and Thomas Ultican elementary schools. [Mike Genet/The Examiner]
