DEAR ABBY: I have been married to my wife for a little over a year. I love her. However, right before our wedding, I met a co-worker I’ll call “Alexis.” We hit it off, and I consider her a close friend.
Over the next two weekends, several agencies will host shopping trips with less-fortunate children in what has become an annual tradition. On Saturday, Wild Souls Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation in Oak Grove will have its third Shop With a Conservation Officer event, hosting 12 children from the Oak Grove and Grain Valley areas, in partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation, at the Blue Springs Walmart.
It’s that time of year again, when people are thinking about getting someone a pet for Christmas. Unless the person who is receiving the pet is ready for a pet and you’ve matched the person with the pet, I strongly suggest not giving someone a pet.

The newest COVID boosters, known as the bivalent boosters, are available. These bivalent boosters target the most recent COVID Omicron sub-variants BA.4 and BA.5. The CDC recommends these bivalent boosters at this time.
Blue Springs Parks and Rec is offering a brunch with Santa from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 17 at Vesper Hall, 400 N.W. Vesper, Blue Springs. It will include crafts, “reindeer food” and pictures with Santa. The deadline to register is Dec. 10.
DEAR ABBY: I have a sister in-law, “Karen,” no one in my husband’s family likes. She’s rude and insulting and acts like she is better than everyone else. She feels she’s entitled to have family members watch her kids so she can do what she wants.

DEAR ABBY: I have been with my boyfriend, “Robert,” for 10 years. We live together, and he helps me raise my preteen daughter. Recently, Robert has decided that he is “entitled to privacy.” He has locked me out of his computer and phone and refuses to share his passwords.
