Ice cream is the best of desserts any time of year, but it really hits the spot on a warm and balmy summer evening. Cool and creamy, it’s both decadent and nostalgic, whether it’s piled high on an ice cream cone or — my favorite way — scooped into a crispy waffle bowl and drenched with spoonful after spoonful of homemade hot fudge.
Now if you would tell me what you want to hear about this week I’d know just what to write! I enjoy chatting with you, but neither do I want to bore you with too much rambling about our “corner of the woods.” OK, we don’t really live in the woods, just right next to 300 acres of woods behind and back yonder from our house.

Dear Governor Parson: Over 20 years ago, we learned that we were moving to the Kansas City area. Moving, transferring the kids’ schools and securing a home are not easy tasks.
