Red Cross says need for blood, platelets is high

Because of a steep drop in donations of blood and platelets, the Red Cross has scheduled several blood drives in Eastern Jackson County this month. The Red Cross will enter all July donors into a contest to win a package including a beach bike, a smokeless portable fire pit, a paddle board, a kayak, and a $500 gift card. Further, donors during the week of July 21 to 24 will receive a Shark Week T-shirt (while supplies last).
