Animals Best Friends has many cats that need good homes. Two of these cats are Riley and Ricky.
Erlyn Dalan of Blue Springs, Colton Kerr of Independence, and Francesca Rodriguez of Independence have been initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, an all-discipline collegiate honor society. Dalan is a student at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.
The Preceptor Theta Eta chapter of the sorority Beta Sigma Phi met last Saturday, along with all other Beta Sigma Phi chapters in Independence to celebrate the sorority’s Founder’s Day. Each local chapter recognized its women of the year, with Julie Drummond and Joyce Shelton Hazelrigg receiving that honor from the Preceptor Theta Eta chapter.
