Fatal attack on KC firefighter spotlights paramedic safety

Self-defense training for firefighters and paramedics/EMTs is not an established nationwide policy or program, though first responders with the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District have some policies and methods to reduce the chance of a violent encounter with a patient.
