Snow snarls traffic, ushers in bitter cold

KANSAS CITY — A winter storm was dropping snow over much of Kansas and parts of Missouri on Wednesday and some areas were expected to continue to receive precipitation through early Thursday. Snowfall was on the short end of the expected range in the immediate Kansas City area, but the National Weather Service cautioned that travel was expected to remain difficult.
