WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court has rejected a challenge from House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy to the proxy voting system that Democrats put in place in response to the coronavirus pandemic. McCarthy had sought a declaration that proxy voting, an absent representative giving authority for someone in attendance to cast his or her vote, was unconstitutional.
Through Monday the Health Department’s seven-day positive test percentage for EJC stood at 35.5% after rising from 17.6% to 35.6% over the course of two weeks. The CDC number for Jackson County as a whole also dropped to 33.8% from 37.2% last week.
