Jackson County Legislator Crystal Williams says she plans to withdraw and then rework and resubmit an ordinance to put in writing the county’s powers, under state law, to carry out its public-health responsibilities.

ST. LOUIS – COVID-19 infections are rising in Missouri nursing homes and crippling schools as the highly contagious omicron variant surges.
Missouri has reported more cases of COVID-19 in the first 12 days of January than any full month of the pandemic so far. As a result of the massive spike of infections tied to the omicron variant, hospitalizations are also at record levels and schools in many communities are shutting their doors.
