Independence’s City Council will likely vote again Tuesday on taking legal action to steer the former Kmart building at Noland Road and Interstate 70 from a non-responsive owner toward redevelopment.
JEFFERSON CITY — Two bills that would require Missouri schools to remove books and curricula surrounding race and equity, as well as require classrooms to notify parents of certain subjects being taught, drew significant public testimony and flared tempers at the state Capitol on Tuesday.
Classes will still begin as scheduled next Tuesday at Metropolitan Community College campuses, but many classes will be virtual instead of in-person. MCC says lecturebased courses will be virtual until Feb.
