Opal N. McClellan, 94, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Friday, December 2, 2022 at Meyer Care Center at John Knox East. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 11th at Royer Funeral Home; Grain Valley, MO. Funeral Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home; burial in Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grain Valley, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Opal was born January 11th, 1928 in Mapleton, KS to Orvan and Emma (Garrett) Powell. Seventy-Five years ago, Opal married Fred McClellan on January 17, 1947. Opal was employed for more than twenty years as secretary at Cler-Mont Elementary in the Fort Osage School District. She was also the bookkeeper for than twenty-five years for Fred McClellan Foundations in Independence, MO. After retirement Opal worked for Trailside Campers in Grain Valley, MO. Opal loved to play cards, play bingo, travel, and camp.
