Alice (Koger) Miller, 84, of rural Sibley was born May 30, 1938, daughter of Jesse and Grace (Woods) Koger. Surrounded by family, Alice departed this life Friday, June 17, 2022 at North Kansas City Hospice House. Alice was united in marriage to Virgil Miller in 1968. They enjoyed 50 years together. Alice worked at several jobs including Allison Chalmers. She co-owned a laundromat and a variety store and helped operate both. Alice loved planting flowers and growing a garden. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, parents and nine brothers and sisters. Alice is survived by her three children, James (Illa) Burk of Sibley, Virgil (Lisa) Miller Jr. of Independence and Jeannette (Dale) Miller-Brooker of Sibley; four grandkids, Angela Gerken, Brian (Amy) Burk, Chelsea (Ricky) Mullen and Allison Miller- Brooker; nine great-grandkids, Shaianne Gerken, David Gerken, Makhilla Gerken, Brianna Gerken, Alyssa(Aaron) Winter, Molly Burk, Vance Dowell, Austin Caudill and baby JaNae; one sister Betty Kelley of Lathrop; plus many nieces and nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life to honor Alice will be held on Saturday, July 2, at 10 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ Missionary Restoration Branch of Buckner, 3415 N. Elsea Smith Road, Buckner, MO 64016.
