Deborah Loraine Ashworth passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. She was 67. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21 from 1-2 p.m. at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Mo. Her memorial service will immediately follow.

Charles “Chuck” Louis Grasher Jr., 76, of Hamilton, Mo. passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Cameron Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 18 at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, Mo.; burial in Sni Mills Cemetery, Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Beverly Gail Ahring

Beverly Gail Ahring, 70, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Home in Olathe, KS. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 17, 2022 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St; Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 10-11am prior to the service at the chapel. Beverly was born on August 25, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri to Harold and Faye (Cargill) Julian and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from Van Horn High School in 1969 and served on the Alumni Association for a number of years. She had worked for over 33 years at St. Luke’s Plaza Hospital in the purchasing department and in the Heart Institute until she retired. She was Baptist by faith and had attended Rockwood Baptist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking and baking, which beautifully complimented her love of family time and her favorite holiday, Christmas. Each year, Beverly loved attending SantaCaliGon Days on the Independence Square, indulging in shopping and creating lasting memories with her family. Jason, her son, was everything to her. Beverly is survived by her son, Jason (Sara) Ahring of Overland Park, KS; two grandchildren, Caleb and Audrey Ahring; and a large extended family of cousins and other friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Rick Julian. Contributions may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation or the Good Samaritan Society of Olathe. Donald Elwin Burke

Donald Elwyn Burke was born November 18, 1932 in Earlville, IA, and passed away peacefully from a stroke on June 7, 2022 at the Overland Park, KS Regional Hospital at the age of 89. Don graduated Earlville High School in 1951, where he played basketball and sang in the choir.
