BLUE SPRINGS - William“Bill” Starkey, 86, Blue Springs, MO passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO following a lengthy illness. Bill was born September 8, 1935 in Schell City, MO to Chester A. and Martha Ann (Alexander) Starkey. He was united in marriage to Glennise E. Germann on March 12, 1955 in Harwood, MO and she survives of the home.

John Stone Thumm

INDEPENDENCE, MO - John Stone, Thumm, 94 of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Cremation is planned with memorial services pending at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family wishes to have donations made in his name to Kansas City Hospice or Stone Church. John was born September 23, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA to Charles and Clara (Stone) Thumm and has been a longtime area resident. He was a minister in the RLDS (later the Community of Christ) for several years and attended the Community of Christ Stone Church. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He is survived by; 2 daughters, Pamela Spain and Cindy Woodley both of Independence, MO; also, 2 grandchildren, Jamie Mullins, (her daughters Hailey, Mackenzie); John Woodley (his wife Brandie and their sons, Skyler and Clayton). and 4 great grandchildren. SUGAR CREEK - Alan Johnson, loved by family and friends as “Uncle Al, the kiddies pal,” died suddenly and unexpectedly early Sunday morning, December 19, 2021 from complications caused by a dissecting aortic aneurysm. Despite outstanding medical and nursing care at Lee Summit Medical Center, the stress on Alan’s body was too severe and he passed away just before dawn.

Jacquelyn Rhea Baker

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother (Mimi), Jacquelyn Rhea Baker,65, of Independence, Missouri, entered through the gates of Heaven on December 16, 2021, at CenterPoint Hospital surrounded by family. She was born December 17, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Robert and Patricia Howard. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She married her loving husband, John Baker Jr. of 48 years on December 8, 1973 and raised 4 children. They lived in St. Louis, Missouri, with a brief move to Decatur, Illinois, then back to St. Louis until they moved to Mt. Juliet, Tennessee in 1985. She also lived in Nashville, and Dickson, Tennessee, before moving to Independence, Missouri in 1993. She worked at Center Place Restoration School for a number of years first as a secretary and then as a librarian. She then worked at Manheim Auto Auction for several years before retiring. She was born and raised in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a wonderful heritage passed on to her as a 6th generation Latter Day Saint. She attended the Waldo Avenue Restoration Branch. She loved her family and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren about Jesus Christ. She enjoyed reading her Scriptures and sharing about Christ with others. She loved to go bargain shopping and taking her dogs for walks. She also loved gardening and swimming in her backyard pool. She loved serving the Lord by helping others, whether it was food, sharing Young Living oils, or babysitting and among other things. She will be greatly missed.
