She was a Christian and worshipped at First Baptist Church of Meridianville.

Barbara Jane Allee

INDEPENDENCE - Barbara J. Allee passed away December 17 at Centerpoint, Independence, MO. Barbara was born in Pettis County near Windsor, MO. Her parents were Frank and Marge Hughes. After the family moved to Windsor Barbara finished high school at Windsor High School. She was the registrar at the Adult Vocational-Technical School in Kansas City and later secretary for the Director of Vocational Technical Programs. She retired after serving sixteen years as a Judicial Administrative Assistant for Judges on the Missouri Court of Appeals – Western District. After retirement she worked part time at Indigo Wild. Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter Ramona Gile and her parents Frank and Marge Hughes. Survivors include her husband Don, daughter Paula (Bob) Radford of Overland Park, son Jeff (Stephanie) Allee of St. Louis, sister Diane Waisner of Columbia, MO, brother Howard (Deanna) Hughes of Independence, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers the family requests, contributions to the First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit or the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. A Visitation will be held Sunday, January 2, 2022, family will greet guest between the hours of 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., with Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Both to take place at First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit, 2 NE Douglas St, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063.

Carolyn Fay Steinike

Carolyn Fay Steinike, 66, of Independence, Missouri passed away December 17, 2021. Carolyn and her twin Marilyn Kay were born on July 5, 1955 in Lebanon, MO. The twins were the fifth and sixth children of parents Hershel D. Perryman and Myrtle E. Bradshaw Perryman. The family moved to Raytown, MO in the late fifties and presided there until moving to Lone Jack, MO where the twins graduated from Lone Jack High School in 1973.

INDEPENDENCE, MO - Hazel Ruth Gumm, 88 of Independence, MO passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 at Ignite Medical Resort in Blue Springs, MO. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with burial to follow in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. Donation may be made in her name to the Glenview Baptist Church, 3101 S. Shrank Rd., Independence, MO 64055. Hazel was born February 18, 1933 in Charleston, AR to Frank and Delphene (Holt) King and has been a longtime area resident. She had worked as a cashier for several years at Walgreen’s Pharmacy as well as Kmart. She enjoyed baking sewing and shopping and was a longtime member of the Glenview Baptist Church. She is survived by; a son, 7 grandchildren, Shane, Mandi, Ryan, Holly, Alisa, Nathan and Jordan and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, a sister and a daughter, Gayla Johnson in 1996. Hazel will always be remembered as a strong woman with a vibrant sense of humor and a knack for conversation! She had an enormous amount of love and pride for her family, and an abundant love of Christ.
