Griner’s Russia detention extended for third time
MOSCOW — WNBA star Brittney Griner will remain in Russian custody through at least July 2, Russian state-run news agency Tass reported Tuesday. The 31-year-old American basketball player has been held in Russia on drug-smuggling accusations since February.
Deshaun Watson again denies sexual misconduct claims
BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson reiterated he never committed sexual misconduct and said he plans to keep fighting to clear his name. Watson, who is facing civil lawsuits from 24 massage therapists in Texas accusing him of sexual assault and harassment during private sessions, on Tuesday stood by previous comments proclaiming his innocence.
Two EJC grads earn All-America honors
Three Crowder College baseball players – two from Eastern Jackson County – have been named National Junior College Athletic Association Division I All-Americans for the 2022 season. Redshirt freshman pitcher and LSU commit Jacob Misiorowski, the Region 16 Player of the Year, was selected as a second-team All-American while COVIDsophomore infielders Josh Patrick and Peyton Holt were both selected as honorable mention picks.
