Jaguars fall just short of title

Back when his Blue Springs South High School girls soccer team was 4-6, coach Todd Findley knew that better days were just over the horizon. The Jaguars played their best soccer late in the season and eventually reached the .500 mark at 11-11 as they prepared for the Class 4 District 6 top-seeded Columbia Rock Bridge Bruins in the district title game Friday at home.

Local grads help Crowder return to NJCAA World Series

Grand Junction, Colorado, here they come. Truman High School graduate Josh Patrick went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs as the Crowder College baseball team clinched a berth to the NJCAA Division I World Series for a second consecutive season on Sunday by defeating Delgado Community College 9-1 in the championship of the South Central District Tournament at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium in New Orleans.
