Grain Valley closes in on conference title
The Grain Valley baseball team moved closer to a conference title with a rout of Fort Osage Tuesday. Jace Weems went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored to help the Eagles claim a 12-2 six-inning win over the host Indians.

Mayfield ‘shocked’ by Hall of Fame nod
Brad Mayfield was one of those rare high school coaches who always shunned the spotlight, while turning all the attention toward his Blue Springs High School baseball team. It’s now impossible for Mayfield to remain in the shadows as he will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame on May 18 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield.
