Neto’s return helps Comets break skid

Nicolau Neto wasn’t planning on being in goal Friday night. The Kansas City Comets goalkeeper has been rehabbing a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) tear the past six weeks, but he was rushed into duty Friday at Cable Dahmer Arena when backup goalie Lou Misner aggravated a rib injury he suffered last weekend in a loss at Ontario.

Pair of losses snaps Mavericks’ win streak

A pair of weekend losses didn’t make Kansas City Mavericks players shy away from the fans Sunday. Despite a lost weekend in which the Mavericks failed to pick up any ground in the ECHL’s Mountain Division — following a 6-1 loss Saturday to the Iowa Heartlanders and a 5-3 setback to the Wichita Thunder Sunday afternoon at Cable Dahmer Arena — many members of coach Tad O’Had’s squad let the fans just how much they mean to them.
