Fort Osage sends 6 to state tournament

The Fort Osage wrestling team has plenty of youth, with six freshmen and two sophomores among the 11 Indians who competed in Saturday’s Class 4 District 4 Tournament at Staley High School. Typically, a team with so many underclassmen wouldn’t see most of their wrestlers qualify for state, but Fort Osage proved to be an exception.

Tamika Catchings leaves Indiana Fever front-office positions

Tamika Catchings is stepping down as vice president of basketball operations and general manager of the Indiana Fever, the team announced Monday. The franchise’s most storied player, who helped Indiana win a WNBA championship in 2012 and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame last year, had held the front-office positions since 2017, and the team has struggled under her leadership.

Winners, losers of Super Bowl 56

The star-studded Los Angeles Rams fulfilled their destiny, beating the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 Sunday to win Super Bowl 56 at SoFi Stadium. Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw two touchdown passes to Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp, and defensive end Aaron Donald made key stops late to propel the Rams to victory.
