Chiefs’ leaders show quick action to clear hurdles
I am amazed with how the media gurus have now jumped on the Kansas City Chiefs’ bandwagon. I must admit after watching the Chiefs play the Titans in Nashville, I thought winning the AFC West this year might be a stretch.

While the Van Horn Falcons did not get off to the start that coach Max Sollars had hoped for Wednesday, his team soared in the second and third quarters. That resulted in an impressive 63- 47 come-from-behind win against Blue Springs South in a Holley Division consolation semifinal in the William Jewell Holiday Classic in Liberty.

Passing game powers Air Force past Cards
DALLAS -- Haaziq Daniels threw for two touchdowns and ran for two others as Air Force (10-3) beat Louisville (6-7) in the First Responder Bowl on Tuesday in Dallas. Daniels completed 9 of 10 passes for a season-high 252 yards, leading a tripleoption offense that came into the game averaging an FBS-best 340.8 rushing yards and the second-fewest passing yards at 82.5 per game.

Power play boost not enough for Mavericks
CORALVILLE, Iowa – Throughout the season, Kansas City Mavericks coach Tad O’Had has stressed the importance of his team improving offensively when it is on a power play. The Mavericks, who entered Monday with just 19 power play goals in 119 chances, were two of three with a man advantage Monday night at Xtream Arena.
