Bears come up just short of title

It took just three games this season for William Chrisman’s Dayne Herl to find out what it’s like to be the marquee player on the Bears basketball team this season. The 6-foot-5 senior guard has experienced every type of defense in an opponent’s playbook, and before Saturday afternoon’s championship game in the Fourth Annual Phog Allen Invitational, he enjoyed a heroic performance in the Bears’ 71-69 overtime victory over Jefferson City.

Mizzou eager for Armed Forces Bowl against Army

Missouri athletic director Desiree Reed-Francois doesn’t feel like the Tigers were the Southeastern Conference’s odd team out during the bowl selection process. Yes, MU was the only league team not selected to the College Football Playoff or a previous league-affiliated bowl, but she and Missouri head football coach Eli Drinkwitz value the opportunity of the Armed Forces Bowl.
