Donna Jean Altis-Huskisson, 63, of Pleasant Hill, formerly of Blue Springs and Lee’s Summit, was born December 5, 1958, in Kansas City. She departed this life, Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Donna was a 1976 Truman High School graduate. She graduated from University of Central Missouri in 1980 with a degree in nursing later earning a Law degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City in 1990. On October 7, 2016, she was united in marriage to David Gene Huskisson in Blue Springs. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2022.

Donna was first employed as an Emergency Room Nurse for St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs and Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. After earning her law degree and becoming an Immigration Attorney she opened the Altis Law Firm in Independence. She was a member of A&A Immigration Lawyers. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and at her cabin at the lake, reading, and caring for her cats and dogs.

Donna was also preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Lee Altis; her stepfather, Walter “Gene” Kabrick; and an infant sister, Karen Kathleen Kabrick.

She is survived by her mother, Norma Jean (Bowman) Kabrick of Blue Springs; several aunts and uncles; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Per Donna’s wishes cremation has been accorded. Private burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence at a later date.
